11 Sheep Coloring Pages to Print for Free!
Animals
Did you know the wool in your scarf or your coziest coat started out growing on the back of a sheep? These calm animals live in flocks, drift across the green meadows together and spend the whole day grazing without any rush, their curly coats swaying in the breeze. And since that wool is begging for a little color, we gathered a whole bunch of sheep coloring pages just for you.
There is something for everyone here: cartoon sheep with great big smiles, tiny lambs taking their first steps, a sheep sniffing a flower and even a sheep wearing glasses. You will see very simple drawings for the littlest ones and more detailed scenes for those who already feel comfortable with their pencils.
Grab your favorite colors, get comfy and let your imagination wander. At Coloring Together there is no such thing as a badly colored sheep: the wool can turn out white like a cloud, caramel, sky blue or any color that pops into your head. All that matters is having fun while you paint.

Why color sheep pictures?
The sheep was one of the earliest animals to join human life: thousands of years ago we began caring for it because of its wool, the same wool that later becomes coats, blankets and scarves. It lives in a flock, it is social and it always prefers to stay close to its companions.
Coloring sheep is the perfect excuse to slow down for a while and look at them calmly: how their wool curls up, how thin their legs are, those ears hanging down at the sides. Choosing the colors and filling in each curl is a relaxing exercise that helps you concentrate and shake off the day's worries.
On every page we also leave a fun fact, so when you finish the drawing you walk away with something new to share too. And once your sheep is ready, add it to our gallery: we love seeing how each person colors it their own way.
Learn while coloring Sheep
- Sheep have rectangular pupils. That unusual shape lets them see almost everything around them, even what is happening behind, without turning their head.
- Wool never stops growing. That is why sheep need to be sheared once a year; otherwise it gets so long and heavy that moving becomes hard.
- They are very social animals and hate being alone. They always stay together in a group called a flock and get nervous when they are separated from their friends.
- They have a great memory: a sheep can recognize and remember the faces of around 50 other sheep, and people too, for years.
- A baby sheep is called a lamb, an adult female is a ewe and a male is a ram.
- Just like cows, sheep chew the cud: they swallow grass and later bring it back up to chew it slowly all over again.
- They have no front teeth on top: instead they use a hard gum pad to snip the grass in one bite.
- Wool protects them from the cold and from the heat, and it soaks up moisture. It is like wearing a natural coat all year round.
- A newborn lamb can stand and walk just a few minutes after being born, and it knows its mother by the sound of her bleat.
- Sheep were one of the first animals humans ever tamed, more than 10,000 years ago.
