Moo! That friendly sound belongs to the cow, one of the very first animals we learn to recognize as little kids. Calm, big and gentle-eyed, she spends her days chewing grass in the field without ever being in a hurry. That is why we put together this collection of cow coloring pages, so you can give her black and white coat all the color it is waiting for.
You will find cows of every kind: cartoon cows with huge eyes, a dairy cow grazing in the meadow, shaggy highland cows from the mountains of Scotland and even a cow peeking out in front of the barn. There are very simple drawings for the littlest artists and more detailed scenes for those who already have some practice.
Pick your favorite colors, find a comfy spot and let your imagination out to graze. Here at Coloring Together we believe every drawing turns out unique when you add your own style, so there is no way to get it wrong: your cow can be brown, spotted, pink or any color you like best.

Why color cow pictures?
The cow has been one of the most important animals to people for thousands of years. She gives us milk, which becomes cheese, butter and yogurt, and she lives close to us on farms all over the world. Even though she is very big, she is a calm and peaceful animal who spends almost the whole day eating grass and resting.
Coloring cows is a quiet and fun way to get to know them better. While you decide what color the coat and the spots should be, you start to notice what they really look like: their big ears, their horns, their wet nose and that tail that shoos the flies away. It is a relaxing activity that helps you focus and set your imagination free.
And since we leave a fun fact with every drawing, you will finish knowing things about cows you probably did not know. Learning and creating at the same time: that is the best part of coloring.

- Cows have a stomach split into four parts. They swallow grass without fully chewing it and later bring it back up to chew again, something called chewing the cud.
- Their eyes sit on the sides of their head, so they can see almost everything around them without turning their neck: a nearly 360-degree view.
- They are very social animals and have best friends. They get nervous and sad when they are separated from the cow they get along with best.
- A single dairy cow can give around 30 liters of milk a day. That is why she needs to eat and rest for so many hours.
- Each cow's nose is unique, just like our fingerprints. There are no two identical muzzles anywhere on the planet.
- They have no front teeth on top. Instead they have a tough gum pad they use to pull up the grass in one tug.
- They sleep very little, only about four hours a day, and although they can doze standing up, for deep sleep they lie down on the ground.
- A newborn calf can stand and walk on its own about an hour after being born. It starts exploring right away!
- Cows cannot tell the color red apart very well. The myth that a red cape makes them angry is false: what bothers them is the movement.
- The shaggy highland cows come from Scotland and have a long, double coat that keeps them warm in the cold mountain rain.
