The cheetah is nature's speed champion, and in these cheetah coloring pages we caught it right when it stops to rest. Make the most of that little break: it is your chance to color it before it dashes off again.

We gathered cheetahs for every taste: one standing tall to show off its spots, another lying in the sun, playful cubs and even a mother strolling through the savanna with her baby. You decide whether to paint it the classic yellow with black spots or invent a cheetah in colors no one has ever seen.

The best part of coloring is that there is no rush: you can go slowly, try out shades and enjoy every little spot. And when your cheetah is ready, send it our way so it can run alongside the drawings from other kids in our gallery.

Why color cheetah coloring pages?

No land animal runs faster than the cheetah: it can reach 120 kilometers per hour, quicker than many cars on the highway. It pulls this off thanks to its lightweight body, long legs and a tail it uses like a rudder so it does not tumble on the turns.

Coloring cheetahs is a calm way to get to know this very special cat. While you decide which shade of yellow suits it best and where each spot should go, you pay attention to the details and your hand relaxes, the complete opposite of the cheetah's sprint.

We also spread plenty of fun facts about cheetahs among the drawings, so every sheet you color leaves you with something new to surprise your friends. Shall we get started?

Learn while coloring Cheetahs

  1. The cheetah is the fastest land animal in the world. It can go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3 seconds, quicker than a race car.
  2. It cannot run at full speed for long: after about 20 or 30 seconds it gets tired and needs to rest in the shade so it does not overheat.
  3. It has black lines running from its eyes down to its mouth, like two tears. They help keep the sun from dazzling it while it chases its prey.
  4. Unlike the lion and the tiger, the cheetah cannot roar. Instead it purrs like a cat and makes a sound similar to a bird's chirp.
  5. Its spots are round and solid, different from the leopard's, which has little flower-shaped marks that are hollow in the middle.
  6. The cheetah's long tail works like a rudder: it helps it turn and keep its balance when it runs at full speed after its meal.
  7. It is one of the few cats that hunts during the day. It heads out early to avoid running into lions and hyenas, which prefer the night.
  8. Its claws barely tuck away, like a dog's. They work like cleats and give it grip so it does not slip while running.
  9. Cubs are born with long, silvery fur on their backs, like a little cape, that helps them hide in the tall grass.
  10. Most cheetahs live in Africa, though a tiny group still lives in Iran, in Asia, and it is in danger of disappearing.
