Why color tritons pictures?

It is told in various stories of Greek mythology, that Poseidon and Amphitrite had a son, do you know what they named him? Triton! This character became the king of the seas, and unlike his father, he had the appearance of a merperson, that is, half man and half fish.

Triton married Libya, an oceanid of the region of the same name, where they were parents of several nymphs. In fact, it is said that Athena was an adoptive daughter of Triton. Surprising, isn't it?

  3. In Greek mythology, Triton lived in a golden palace at the bottom of the sea, with his father Poseidon and his mother, Amphitrite.
  4. Triton is portrayed as a messenger of Poseidon in English literature.
  5. Tritons are generally portrayed with sea conches that they use to announce the arrival of Poseidon.
  6. In Greek mythology, Triton used conches to calm or raise the waves. In addition, it is said that their sound was so cacophonous that it made the giants flee.
