Why color the alphabet pictures?
The alphabet comes from the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs of 2000 BC, over time it gave rise to the Phoenician alphabet, which evolved as time passed until it became what we know today.
The alphabet is currently made up of 27 letters, over the years the alphabet has gone through different changes. The last of them was the removal of CH and LL in 2010, since they are considered combinations of two letters. These are known as digraphs.

- The most used letter of the Spanish alphabet is the E.
- The letters CH and LL were removed from the alphabet in the year 2010 by the Royal Spanish Academy.
- The last letter added to the alphabet was the W in 1969.
- The first version of the Latin alphabet had 19 letters.
- The shortest alphabet in the world only has 12 letters! It derives from the Latin alphabet, it has 5 vowels and 7 consonants. This alphabet is used on the island of Bougainville, located in New Guinea.
- The longest alphabet in the world belongs to the Khmer language. It has 72 letters! And 32 of them are vowels. Amazing!
- Did you know there are texts in which a letter of the alphabet is intentionally left out? That's right! These writings are known as lipograms.
- The modern Azerbaijani alphabet has a unique letter that is not used anywhere else. This letter is like an upside-down "e" and is called "schwa", and it expresses a neutral or weak vowel sound.
