Why color the vowels pictures?
The word vowel comes from the Latin "vocalis", which means "with the voice", since, in the vast majority of languages they are vitally important for forming words, and therefore, they are vitally important for our communication.
The vowels usually accompany the consonants, and each combination creates a particular sound. In Spanish and English there are 5, divided into strong (a,e,o) and weak (i,u). However, depending on the language they can reach even 32 vowels. Amazing!

- The word vowel comes from the Latin "vocalis" and means "of the voice".
- Some languages, like Hebrew or Arabic, are usually written almost without marking the vowels: you add them yourself as you read!
- The only animal that has all the vowels in its name is the murcielago (bat).
- The alphabet with the most vowels is Khmer, the official language of Cambodia, which has 32 vowels in its alphabet of 72 letters.
- Did you know that the albaricoque (apricot) has all five vowels in its name? It is a fruit similar to the peach, but smaller!
- Do you know which is the only flower that has all the vowels in its name? The orquidea (orchid)!
- The two dots that are placed above the vowel u (ü) are known as a diaeresis.
- The vowel E is the most used in Spanish and in English.
- The least used vowel in Spanish is the U.
- The vowels were created in Greece, they took the consonants and semi-vowels of the Phoenician alphabet that did not exist in the Greek language and turned them into vowels.
