Why color the letter z pictures?

The letter Z is the last letter of the Spanish alphabet and the twenty-second consonant. Its origin dates back to the Greek alphabet, which in turn derives from the Phoenician alphabet. The spelling rules in force since 2010 advise against naming the zeta as "ceta", "ceda" or "zeda".

This letter comes from the Latin alphabet, which took it from the letter "dseda" of the Greek alphabet, which in turn comes from the Phoenician letter "zai", whose meaning is weapon in Aramaic.

  2. The Latin alphabet took the letter Z from Greek where it is known as dseda or zeta.
  3. The letter Z in the Greek alphabet is the sixth, and it also has a value of 7 in the Greek numbering system.
  4. The Greek letter zeta comes from the letter "zai" of the Phoenician alphabet.
  5. Before the introduction of the z in Latin, the sound of the zeta was written with s at the beginning of words, and with double s in the middle of them.
  6. The letter Z comes from the Proto-Semitic Za. This letter symbolized a dagger or weapon, and the Phoenicians knew it as Zayin.
  7. In the Spanish dictionary, there are around 3060 words that start with the letter Z.
  8. In Latin, the letter Z at the end of words was pronounced like ts.
  9. The letter Z is frequently used as an onomatopoeia for snoring, or to represent the act of sleeping.

  11. The letter Z is used in the International System as the prefix "zetta". Since 1991 it represents a sextillion (a 1 followed by 21 zeros). Amazing!
