Why color the letter t pictures?
The letter T is a letter created from the first alphabet, around the year 2000 BC. Today, it is the twenty-first letter of the Spanish alphabet, and the seventeenth consonant of the alphabet.
In its early representations, this letter was written in the form of an X or a cross. This letter has a pronunciation that can vary according to its position within the word, however, it is characterized by being strong and quick.

Learn while coloring The Letter T
- The letter T has its origin in the letter “taw” of the Proto-Sinaitic alphabet (which gave rise to the Greek “tau”). Taw meant “mark or sign”, and the original symbol looked quite a lot like a cross.
- In ancient times, words that were written with a D at the end were written with T, for example: sed was written set.
- In Cadmean Greek, the letter T was usually or used to be confused with the letter M, however, in the Attic and Eolodoric form, it took the shape of T again, similar to the classical Latin letter.
- In the aeronautical phonetic alphabet, the letter T is assigned the word Tango.
- The letter T in Morse code is (-).
- In the Cyrillic alphabet, the letter T is written as: Т
- In the binary alphabet, the letter T is written as: 01010100.
- In terms of pronunciation, the T is a voiceless dental stop consonant, that is, it is articulated by firmly pressing the tip of the tongue against the inner face of the upper teeth.
- The Spanish ch we know today comes from the “ct”, of words like “factum”, or “lactem”.
- Did you know that until 2009 the Spanish alphabet had 29 letters? That was until the Royal Spanish Academy carried out a spelling reform in 2010, removing the letters “ch” and “ll”.
