The letter O is the sixteenth letter of the Spanish alphabet and its fourth vowel. Today it is written as a circle, but in ancient Egyptian this letter was drawn as an eye and its name was "yein".

Its shape and its name match the form the mouth makes when we pronounce it. It is a closed vowel and the third most used letter in Spanish. 8,056 words begin with the letter O!
