- Yoga is mentioned in the ancient sacred texts of the Vedas, which are considered some of the oldest records of human civilization. These are texts with Brahman mantras and rituals.
- The word yoga means union in Sanskrit, the classical language of India.
- It's said that yoga seeks the union of the body, the mind, and the spirit, as well as harmony with the universe.
- Patanjali, an Indian sage who lived thousands of years ago, is considered the founder of yoga. He compiled the knowledge and techniques of yoga in a text called Yoga Sutras, which is still a key reference in the practice of yoga today.
