  2. The Aztecs worshipped the Sun god, called Huitzilopochtli. Their devotion was so great that they offered him sacrifices.

  11. One of the many beliefs of the Aztecs is that every 52 years humanity ran the risk of sinking into darkness forever. How scary!
  12. The poor Aztecs made corn wraps that they filled with frogs, snails, insect eggs, among others. Today, they are known as tamales.
  13. Today there are still people who speak the Aztec language. It is spoken by more than one and a half million people nowadays.
  14. If an Aztec child was born on a special date, they became a candidate to be sacrificed to the god Tlaloc, the god of rain.
  15. It is said that the Aztecs went extinct as a civilization in the year 1521.
