FC Barcelona is not just a football team: its fans say it is "més que un club", which means "more than a club". It was born in 1899 in the city of Barcelona, in Catalonia, and since then it has gathered fans in every corner of the planet.

- Barça was founded on November 29, 1899. It was created by a group of fans led by Joan Gamper, a young Swiss man who placed a newspaper ad to put the team together.
- Its colors are blue and garnet (a dark red). That is why the players are called "blaugranas", the Catalan word for blue and garnet.
- The club motto is "Més que un club", which in Catalan means "more than a club". It sums up what Barça means to its people.
- It plays its home games at the Spotify Camp Nou, one of the biggest stadiums in Europe, with room for almost 100,000 people.
- The crest shows the Cross of Saint George, the senyera (the flag of Catalonia), the letters FCB and a football.
- The club belongs to its members: more than 140,000 people own a part of Barça and even vote for who runs it.

- It has won the European Cup (the Champions League) five times. The trophy has huge handles, so fans nicknamed it "Old Big Ears".

- Its most awaited match is "El Clásico" against Real Madrid. It is one of the most watched games in all of sport.
