  8. In 2014, Malala Yousafzai took part in the campaign for the release of some young Nigerian women who had been kidnapped by an Islamic group that rejected the education of women.
  9. In 2015, Malala Yousafzai identified as a feminist after hearing Emma Watson's speech at the UN.
  10. In May 2014, the University of King's College gave Malala an honorary doctorate, a designation granted to people who have distinguished themselves in certain professional fields without being graduates.
