Cleopatra VII was a very popular queen and the last of ancient Egypt. She was born in 69 BC. After her father's death, at 18 years of age, she ruled Egypt alongside her younger brother Ptolemy XIII, who was 10, and whom she was forced to marry.
Cleopatra was a very intelligent and shrewd woman, and she spoke several languages, including Hebrew, Arabic, Greek and Egyptian. She was a skilled politician and strategist who used her charm and seduction to win over the Roman leaders, Julius Caesar and Mark Antony.

- Cleopatra died at age 39, between August 10 and 12 of the year 30 BC. The causes of her death are not clear, but it is believed to have been a suicide by letting herself be bitten by a venomous snake.
- The location of Cleopatra's tomb remains a mystery to this day.
- Cleopatra was not of Egyptian blood: she belonged to the Ptolemaic dynasty, of Macedonian-Greek origin, founded in Egypt after the death of Alexander the Great. Even so, she was born in Alexandria and came to rule the land of the Nile.
- Upon coming to power, by tradition, Cleopatra, who was 18, had to marry her brother Ptolemy XIII, who was 10.
- Cleopatra was exiled from Egypt by her brother in the year 49 BC. During this exile she met Julius Caesar, who helped her recover her kingdom, expel her brother and with whom she had a son named Caesarion.
- No one knows Cleopatra's true appearance, since her oldest portraits were made a century after her death.
- Cleopatra used to say that she was the reincarnation of the goddess Isis, wife of Osiris and a very powerful sorceress.
- Cleopatra was not the first queen to bear that name. In reality, she was the seventh Cleopatra in the Ptolemaic dynasty.
- Cleopatra spoke several languages, including Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, Egyptian and Aramaic.
- Cleopatra had a love affair with Mark Antony after the death of Julius Caesar. She helped him stay in power and together they had three children.
