  2. It's very common for Mickey Mouse to make cameos and surprise appearances in Disney movies. Some examples are Aladdin, Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Chicken Little, Toy Story and the Goofy Movie. From now on, look carefully at each scene of these movies and discover the hidden Mickeys!
  3. Did you know that Mickey Mouse has a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood? He got it in 1978, which makes him the first animated character in history to have one!
  4. The first voice of Mickey was given by Walt Disney himself. From 1928 until 1947, Mickey was voiced by Disney in all his appearances on the big screen. Awesome!
  5. At first, Mickey was going to be called Mortimer. It was Lillian, Walt Disney's wife, who convinced him to give him the name of the friendly mouse we all know today. Thank you so much Lilli!
  6. For the first Mickey Mouse cartoons, the animators were inspired by the personalities and distinctive traits of certain actors of the time. Do you notice the resemblance between Mickey and Charlie Chaplin?
  7. Did you know that Mickey and Minnie Mouse have their birthday on the same day? Both were born on November 18, 1928.
  8. Did you know that Mickey and Minnie Mouse are married? Even though a wedding has never been seen on screen, in a 1933 interview Walt Disney stated that the little mouse couple is married. Adorable!
  9. The first feature film starring Mickey Mouse was “Fantasia”. The movie was released in November 1940 and featured the participation of Walt Disney, Leopold Stokowski and the Philadelphia Orchestra. It's considered a gem of animation!
  10. Did you know that in Italy, Mickey Mouse is known as Topolino? In Poland he's Myszka Miki, in Lithuania he's Peliukas Mikis, in Japan he's Mikkimausu, in France he's Mickey la souris, in China he's Mi laoshu and in Russia he's Mikki Maus. Awesome!
  11. Did you know that Mickey Mouse exists thanks to Walt Disney losing the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit? When Universal Pictures took the rights to Oswald away from Disney in early 1928, he created Mickey the mouse to replace him.
  12. Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny made a joint appearance as a cameo in the 1988 movie “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”. For the first and only time, the mascots of Disney and Warner Bros appeared together in the same film.
  13. Did you know that Mickey's full name is Michael Theodore Mouse, and Minnie's is Minerva Mouse?
  14. Have you wondered why Mickey Mouse has only 4 fingers on each hand? During the making of his first shorts, the animators realized that drawing a hand with 4 fingers instead of 5 saved them a lot of time and money.
  15. Mickey Mouse's first words were “Hot Dogs”. This happened in the 1929 animated short “The Karnival Kid”, because before this, all of Mickey's shorts were silent.
  16. The first product marketed with Mickey Mouse's face was a wristwatch manufactured by the Ingersoll Watch Company in the 1930s.
  17. The first color animated short starring Mickey Mouse was “The Band Concert” from 1935.
  18. Mickey Mouse's pet is Pluto, a yellow hunting dog with black ears. His first appearance was in the 1930 animated short «The Chain Gang”, in which he was the tracking dog of the prison where Mickey was held.
  19. Did you know that Mickey Mouse has his own music album? It's called “Mickey Mouse Disco”, and it's a compilation of children's songs released to the market in 1979.
  20. Donald Duck is one of Mickey Mouse's best friends. His first appearance was in the 1934 animated short “The Wise Little Hen”, although he was previously mentioned in a 1931 Disney storybook.
  21. Goofy is one of Mickey Mouse's best friends. His first appearance was in the 1932 animated short “Mickey's Revue”.
