  2. The main character's full name is Dora Márquez, and she is 7 years old. She is a very brave explorer for her age!
  3. Her best friend is Boots, a 5-year-old monkey who got his name from the red boots he always wears and absolutely loves.
  4. The show is bilingual: Dora speaks in English and Spanish, helping millions of children learn new words in another language while they play.
  5. Dora's Backpack and Map can talk too. The Map always tells her the three places she has to pass through to reach her destination.
  6. The character who always tries to take her things is Swiper, a sneaky fox. To stop him, Dora repeats three times: "Swiper, no swiping!".
  7. Dora has a cousin named Diego, who also goes on adventures rescuing animals. He became so popular that he got his own show!
  8. One of the most fun things about Dora is that she talks to you. She asks questions and waits for you to answer, as if you were exploring right beside her.
  9. Every adventure ends with the "We did it!" song, to celebrate that Dora reached her destination and got past every obstacle on the way.
  10. Dora was so famous that in 2019 she got her own live-action movie, "Dora and the Lost City of Gold", where she is already a teenager.
