But here we will focus on our Solar System, the one that revolves around the Sun, a star that shines brighter than the others and is the main source of life on Earth.

- Did you know that although Mercury is closer to the Sun, Venus is the hottest planet in the Solar System?
- Between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, there is an asteroid belt that holds more than 90,000 rocky astronomical objects of irregular shapes. Amazing!
- The first planet to be observed with the help of a telescope was Uranus.
- Did you know that Halley's comet makes a complete trip around the Sun in 75-76 years? Earth, on the other hand, takes about 365 days. This comet is the only one that humans can observe with the naked eye, without needing to use a telescope. Impressive!
- Did you know that the Moon exerts a strong influence on Earth and is in charge of keeping our planet's climate stable? Without it, Earth would reach its destruction due to devastating climate changes!
- The names of the planets, with the exception of Earth, come from gods of the myths of Rome or Greece. For example, Venus was the goddess of love and beauty.
- The first man to reach outer space within the Solar System was Yuri Gagarin, in 1961. Incredible!
- Did you know that Uranus and Neptune are known as the “ice giants”? This is because they consist of only a comparatively small proportion of hydrogen and helium, mainly water (ice), ammonia and methane.
- Mercury is the planet with the most extreme temperatures in the Solar System. In one day it goes from more than 420° C to -185° C, that is, a change of 600° C. Impressive!
- Venus is the only planet in the Solar System where the day lasts longer than the year. This is because its rotation takes 243 (Earth) days and its revolution only 224.7 days. Amazing!
- Jupiter has had the same ongoing storm for 300 years! It has an area known as the Great Red Spot, where an enormous hurricane-like storm has been raging nonstop for 300 years. Incredible!
- According to NASA, the Solar System is approximately 4.5 billion years old.
- How many moons do you think exist in the Solar System? More than 800 moons have been discovered so far! Impressive!
- The planet with the most moons discovered so far is Saturn, with more than 270 satellites, surpassing Jupiter, which has around 95. Incredible!
- Did you know that the Sun represents 99.86% of the total mass in our Solar System?
- The first man to set foot on the moon was Neil Armstrong in July 1969.
