Why color pictures of planets?

Imagine that you are in space, and you begin to witness something amazing. In an enormous cloud of gas and dust the debris begins to collide with each other until it forms large bodies or masses. The gravity of these protoplanets attracts more material until they grow in size until they become a planet.

Well, well! It is a bit more complex than that, but we could simplify the birth of a planet that way. That is the conclusion astronomers have reached after years of study. Science is amazing, don't you think?

There are many types of planets, some denser than others, some habitable, and others so chaotic that it would be impossible to live on them. Would you like to know a little more about planets?

On the planet coloring pages we added super interesting fun facts that will make you fly to space. Come with us and travel very far from our planet! We are sure you will have fun.

  1. Every day many asteroids head toward Earth. But don't worry! They do not fall to the ground because they disintegrate before that.
  2. Saturn is a planet with seven rings, do you know what they are made of? Of ice and dust. Amazing!
  3. Uranus is a planet four times bigger than Earth, and it is the seventh farthest from the Sun. On this planet temperatures can reach -200°C,
  4. The wind speed on Neptune exceeds 2000 km/h. It is 5 times greater than the strongest winds recorded on Earth!
  5. Most of the mass of our solar system resides in the Sun. Around 99.89%!
  6. If you were able to place Saturn in water, you would realize that it is able to float! Although it is the second largest planet in the Solar System, it is so low in density that it would manage to float on water. Incredible!
  7. Unlike other planets in the Solar System, the temperature on Venus is the same during the day as at night.
  8. On Venus the clouds create a constant acid rain that is more corrosive than anywhere else in the Solar System. We could not use a normal umbrella!
  9. The planet Kepler-16b has two ruling stars. That's right! Two suns. On this planet you could enjoy two sunrises and two sunsets. It would be incredible!
  10. Osiris is a planet with a tail. Does that seem strange to you? Astronomers believe that this planet loses mass from the radiation of its star, and produces an enormous tail of 200,000 kilometers. Quite a show!
  11. 55 Cancri is a strange planet. But with a big heart! Its core is made of diamond. Incredible!
  12. To reach Jupiter it would take us around 6 years. Incredible! Although it is important to keep in mind that since Jupiter and Earth move all the time, then the distance will not be the same.
  13. Jupiter's moon is the most volcanically active celestial body in the Solar System. It has thousands of volcanoes that expel lava made of sulfur and molten silicates. How incredible!

  15. The planet HD189773b is a planet located about 63 light-years from Earth, but the most impressive thing of all is that the rains are made of glass. That's right! Thanks to the planet's high temperatures, the silicate particles condense and form glass.
  16. The planet WASP-12b is shaped like an egg. That's right! Do you know why? Because it is very close to its star, it takes one day to complete its orbit around it. For that same reason, due to the force of gravity, its shape is similar to that of an egg.
  17. GJ 504b is a pink planet. It has a very striking color! Besides, it is a planet that has four times the mass of Jupiter, being the exoplanet with the lowest mass detected through telescopes.
  18. Uranus is a blue-green planet because it has methane in its atmosphere, do you know what it is made of? Of hydrogen and helium.
  19. On Uranus a season lasts 42 years, that is, if we are in that zone then we will have about 42 years of constant sunlight. Incredible!
