Why color princesses pictures?

A princess is a woman who holds the title of principality. In other words, she is royalty! You have probably heard about princesses, especially in tales and TV series. They are definitely some of the most iconic and interesting characters.

But, unlike fantasy creatures, princesses are real. They can be either the wife of a prince, or the descendant of a king. In the case of fiction, there are many popular princesses, such as, for example, Princess Leia, or the famous Disney princesses. How could you not love them?

At Coloring Together we want you to learn much more about princesses, we add a whole bunch of fun facts on top of the princess images to print and color.

  1. There is a World Princess Day! And it is celebrated every March 3rd.
  2. Princess Anne of the British Royal Family faced her kidnapper, a man who tried to pull her out of the car she was in, to which she resisted saying “Not bloody likely”. The kidnapper's weapon jammed and he could not get the princess out.
  3. After Sleeping Beauty (1959), 30 years passed until The Little Mermaid was released in 1989. Incredible!
  4. Of the Disney princesses, the youngest is Snow White, who was only 14 years old. So young!
  5. Princesses in the Middle Ages could command an entire castle if their husband was captured or imprisoned. Nothing like the movies where they need to be rescued!
  6. In the film “Beauty and the Beast”, they wanted to highlight Belle, that is why, among all the people in the town, she is the only one who wears blue.
  7. Princesses in the Middle Ages received a very good education. Only some nuns and priests knew how to read and write Latin, however the princesses of England learned thanks to their mother.
  8. Today princesses still exist, like Leonor, Princess of Asturias in Spain. By 2020 she was 14 years old, and she was always seen with King Felipe and Queen Letizia at social events.
  9. The only Disney princess who has tattoos is Pocahontas. Had you noticed?
  10. Princess Artemisia of Caria was a princess who existed 500 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. She was an excellent warrior and strategist, so much so that she earned the admiration of the Great Persian King, who had her as an advisor at crucial moments in battle.
  11. In 1293 Princess Eleanor married Henry III, count of the province of Bar, in northern France. Henry was captured by hostile French forces and taken to Paris as a prisoner. The responsibility of securing the county fell to Princess Eleanor.
  12. The British Princess Anne was the first princess to have trouble with the law, when she was fined for not controlling her dog in a public park. Incredible!
  13. Japan also has princesses! One of them was Mako, niece of the current Emperor Naruhito, although she stopped being a princess when she married in 2021.
  14. Diana and Cinderella are the oldest Disney princesses, at only 19 years old. Amazing!
  15. One of the figures of Monaco is Charlotte Casiraghi. Her grandfather, Prince Rainier III of Monaco, married Grace Kelly, a Hollywood star. Incredible!
  16. Princess Anne took the titles away from her two children, although the Queen was determined to make them princes. The British princess made this decision because she did not want her children to be famous and bothered by the press.
  17. Between 1215 and 1275, Princess Eleanor of England defended Dover Castle against her brother, King Henry III, for several months. In the decisive battle at Evesham, her husband and her eldest son died.
  18. The second daughter of Edward I, Joan of Acre, married for the first time at the age of 18 to a divorced 46-year-old man. When he died, 5 years later, she fell in love with a young landless man, and married him in a secret ceremony. How romantic!
  19. Princess Pingyang was a warrior princess who created the “Army of the Lady” in a confrontation against the emperor's army, who sent troops to kill her. But she and her men defeated them.
  20. Joan of Acre was a very rebellious princess. She fought with her parents' employees, married against her father's wishes, and demanded a bigger house when she found out she had fewer servants than her sisters.
  21. The British Princess Anne was nicknamed “The Rude Princess” for the constant contempt she felt and showed toward journalists.
  22. The only princess who does not appear much in her own film is Sleeping Beauty. Of the 75 minutes the film lasts, she only appears in 18. So little!
  23. Sleeping Beauty is the one with the fewest lines in her story. She has only a total of 18 lines of dialogue!
  24. Princess Pingyang was a princess who commanded troops of up to 70,000 soldiers to give the throne to her father and who fought to bring an end to the Sui dynasty.
  25. Artemisia of Caria was a princess who lived 500 years before the birth of Jesus. She supported the Persian king Xerxes in his attempt to conquer Greece, during the Second Persian War (480-479 BC). She commanded Persian ships, and was a great strategist.
  26. Rhodogune of Parthia was a warrior princess who ruled Parthia between 138 and 127 BC. It is said that she was informed of a rebellion while she was preparing a bath, and she made a vow not to bathe or brush her hair until the revolt was put down. Then she marched to battle in the front lines. Worthy of admiration!
