Why color long-necked dinosaurs pictures?
Long-necked dinosaurs were dinosaurs that lived at the end of the Jurassic period. They belong to a genus known as diplodocus, and they existed about 155 to 145 million years ago.
Amazing! These dinosaurs lived mostly in North America, and for a long time they were the largest known dinosaurs. They were four-legged animals with very long necks, with a long whip-shaped tail. Their front legs were a bit shorter than the back ones. Amazing!

Learn while coloring Long-Necked Dinosaurs
- Most long-necked dinosaurs could exceed 25 meters in length and 10 tons in weight. They really were giants!
- The whip-shaped tail of the Diplodocids had about 50 vertebrae. Amazing!
- The Apatosaurus was a dinosaur that could weigh between 20 and 30 tons, and it also measured about 20 meters long. It is believed to have been an animal greatly feared by others, since it made a lot of noise with its long tail.
- The Brachiosaurus was a long-necked dinosaur that lived in the middle or late Jurassic, and that inhabited North America.
- The vertebrae of the Camarasaurus showed chamber-shaped hollows, which made up for the 20 tons of weight it was able to reach. Amazing!
- The Ultrasaurus was a dinosaur that weighed more than 40 tons and measured up to 30 meters long. It had a huge neck! Also, it was an inhabitant of the Asian continent.
- The Diplodocus were dinosaurs that were discovered in 1877, in North America. Incredible! They exceeded 30 meters in length.
- Brachiosaurus commonly fed on conifers and cycads. They were able to eat up to 400 kilos of plants a day!
- Some studies suggest that the Brachiosaurus was a gigantothermic animal. That is, it could maintain its body temperature thanks to its size.
- The Alamosaurus sanjuanensis is the only known species of the genus Alamosaurus. It was a dinosaur that lived at the end of the Cretaceous. This giant measured up to 30 meters long. A colossus!
- The Brachiosaurus was discovered in 1903, and at the time, it was declared the largest dinosaur in history.
- The Camarasaurus were a genus of dinosaurs, relatives of the Diplodocus, that had more robust bones, which made it the heaviest dinosaur.
- The Brontosaurus had tall spines on its vertebrae, and also had very long ribs compared to other diplodocids.
- Scientists think that, due to the height and weight of the Ultrasaurus (it weighed around 40 tons and measured about 30 meters), they needed to save energy to look for food, and therefore they walked very slowly.
- The Brontosaurus was a genus of dinosaurs that lived 155 to 152 million years ago. The largest species measured 22 meters long from head to tail.
- For many years, the scientific community thought that the Apatosaurus and the Brontosaurus were the same, because they had very few differences. But a study done by paleontologists in Portugal and the United Kingdom concluded that they are two different genera.
