Why color dinosaur fossils pictures?

Dinosaur fossils are remains of animals and bones that are discovered by paleontologists. Most of these dinosaur fossils can be found in North America, and several are of eggs or teeth.

From the identification of the first fossils to the present, almost 11000 dinosaur fossils have been unearthed around the world. Amazing! Some of them in Europe and others in North America.

Learn while coloring Dinosaur Fossils

  1. The Megalosaurus was the first fossil found and recognized as a dinosaur. Amazing! It was extracted in 1676 in England.
  2. The largest and most complete T-Rex fossil that exists was found by Sue Hendrickson, in August 1990. Of this dinosaur, 90% of all the bones have been found. Incredible!
  3. In 1877 a fossil known as Archaeopteryx, from Berlin, was discovered. This was a fossil that made history, as it was a specimen that allowed us to discover that birds are dinosaurs, or at least the descendants of a group of them.
  4. The Iguanodon was the second of the dinosaur fossils to be found. In addition, it was also the second to receive its official name. This specimen lived in the Cretaceous.
  5. In 2011, David Fastovsky, a renowned paleontologist, and his team found a fossil of a complete nest, 70cm in diameter, that contained eggs, and in these, skeletons of Protoceratops babies, all articulated and at the same physical maturity. Amazing!
  6. In December 2016 the tail of a dinosaur fossilized in a piece of amber was found. Amazing! Scientists identified the dinosaur as a member of the Coelurosauria.
  7. The Lohuecotitan fossil was found in Lo Hueco in Cuenca, and is considered one of the most important dinosaurs in Spain. It measured about 15 to 20 meters long. It was very big!
  8. At first, it was believed that the Megalosaurus fossils found in England in 1676 belonged to a human giant. Can you imagine? It was not until 1824 that William Buckland considered it to be another species, since it had various vertebrae and jaws.
  9. In 2017 the remains of a dinosaur belonging to the Nodosauridae group, called Borealopelta, were found. The fossils looked as if the dinosaur were still asleep, resting. Incredible!
  10. In Mongolia a very interesting national treasure is preserved. It is none other than the fossil preservation of a fight to the death between a Protoceratops and a Velociraptor, two dinosaurs that were buried suddenly and whose fossils were found almost complete.
