Why color seaweed pictures?

Did you know that seaweed is more important to life than you thought? In fact, it provides almost all of the oxygen on the planet. What an important job it has! That's why it's important to learn about seaweed.

Seaweed is almost always found in aquatic environments, and it can be either single-celled or multicellular. This means there are types of seaweed so tiny that they can only be seen through a microscope.

In fact, scientists believe that the evolutionary history of plants begins with the appearance of microalgae. Amazing! Would you like to learn more? Then you've come to the right place.

Learn while coloring Seaweed

  1. Seaweed has high nutritional value, and it has long been used as food in the Far East. For example, sushi is made with a seaweed called Nori.
  2. Seaweed is usually found near the surface so it can perform photosynthesis, since just like any other plant, seaweed feeds on the sun's rays.
  3. Seaweed is able to process sunlight thanks to chlorophyll, a pigment that is green in color.
  4. Spain is a major world producer of the gelatin obtained from seaweed. How crazy! Plus, it's one of the European countries with the greatest potential for the development and cultivation of seaweed.
  5. There is a discipline dedicated solely to the study of algae, and it's known as phycology.
  6. Seaweed is responsible for around 70-80% of the oxygen we breathe. Amazing!
  7. It's estimated that there are around 27,000 species of seaweed in the world. That's a lot!
  8. Not all seaweed is like the kind you know. Many species of algae are microscopic. These algae are mostly single-celled, and they form phytoplankton.
  9. Seaweed is considered the first link in the food chain in the seas. Do you know why? Because it builds the food for other organisms, especially small animals.
  10. The algae known as Phaeophyceae are the brown algae. Some that are more evolved contain a carbohydrate transport system similar to that of vascular plants. What an incredible system!
