The pianos are instruments capable of giving us the most beautiful melodies, that's why we believe you'll be able to give them a color that honors the sounds that come out of them. What materials will you use? Papers and colors? Or will you dare to use only chalk?

Why color pianos pictures?

The piano is a very popular percussion instrument, whose melody has been accompanying the world since the 18th century. That's right! For quite a long time now.

The word is an abbreviation of "pianoforte", a slightly strange name, right? The first compositions made with the piano date back to around 1732, the most notable being the piano sonatas of Lodovico Giustini.

There are three very interesting varieties of piano; there's the grand piano, the upright, and the digital. Did you already know about them?

  1. The oldest known predecessor of the piano is the "zither". This instrument dates back to the Bronze Age (3000 BC - 1200 BC).
  2. The inventor of the piano is considered to be Bartolomeo Cristofori, in the year 1707.
  3. World Piano Day is celebrated on a very specific day, do you know which one? The 88th day of each year. It always varies! This is because of the number of keys a piano has.
  4. Of all the pianos that Bartolomeo Cristofori, the creator of the piano, made, only 3 exist today.
  5. The term piano comes from "pianoforte", its original name, which combines "piano" (soft) and "forte" (loud), because it could sound soft and loud!
  6. The piano is the only instrument that has a tonal range capable of covering all the instruments of a classical music orchestra.
  7. The first compositions for the piano were composed by Lodovico Giustini in 1732, and are known as the 12 "Sonate da cimbalo di piano e forte detto volgarmente di martelletti".
  8. Almost all the pianos built at the end of the 19th century had 85 notes. But today, modern pianos have 88 keys. That's quite a lot!
  9. One of the most expensive pianos in the world is the Heintzman, do you know why it's so costly? Because it was made entirely of crystal. How crazy! Its price comes to 23,730,000 euros.
  10. John Broadwood was the first piano manufacturer who dared to make them in series at the beginning of the 18th century. He even got to sell up to 400 pianos a year. That was quite a lot, considering not much time had passed since its creation.
