  4. Hephaestus married Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. However, she was unfaithful to him with Ares, the god of war.
  5. Hephaestus was the one who created the armor of Achilles, the famous hero of the Iliad.
  6. Hephaestus took revenge on Hera for having thrown him into the sea after his birth, and he did so by sending her a magical golden throne as a gift. When she sat on it, she got trapped and could not get up. To free her, they had to grant Hephaestus the hand of Aphrodite and his place on Olympus.
  7. Hephaestus created various weapons used by the gods, like the sandals of Hermes, the chariot of Helios or the belt of Aphrodite.

  10. It is said that Hephaestus had his workshops in the volcanoes, and worked with the help of cyclopes.
