Why color flag of peru pictures?

The flag of Peru is a flag with three vertical stripes, two red ones and a white one in the middle. And just like other flags, it has a history that is a little long but very interesting. Would you like to know more?

The flag of Peru has had several designs. The first national flag was raised and unfurled in the Plaza Mayor of Lima, on July 28, 1821, by the liberator José de San Martín, in Pisco.

Some historians indicate that San Martín chose these colors as inspiration from the flags of Argentina and Chile, which were the countries that made up the liberating army. However, that is not the only version, do you know any other?

  1. The first flag of Peru was created by the liberator José de San Martín, liberator of Chile and Argentina.
  2. The decree that gave rise to the first flag of Peru was issued on October 21, 1820. However, it clarified that it would be the flag until there was a government chosen by its inhabitants.
  3. The last modification of the flag of Peru was in 1950, during the presidency of Manuel Odría. The standard (a design without the coat of arms) became the national flag, and official institutions came to have the flag with the coat of arms.
  4. Some historians claim that the inspiration for the colors of the Peruvian flag came from some flamingos.
  5. Before raising the Peruvian flag at any official event, it is customary to hear "the march of flags", created by the maestro José Sabas Libornio, in 1895.
  6. National Flag Day in Peru is celebrated every June 7.
