Why color pictures of cabins?

Cabins are small homes, and they are usually located in rural or semi-rural areas, so it is very common for us to go to a cabin on vacation to spend a few days and have fun in the surroundings, right? Have you ever been to a cabin?

Cabins are not new buildings, in fact, since the Middle Ages cabins were already being built to house, generally, farm workers. In some documentaries, homes that include farms in them are considered cabins.

Learn while coloring cabins

  1. A very peculiar cabin is the Wigwam Cabin. It was built by Canadian natives, and it has a circular shape, plus it is covered with hides to protect against the rain.
  2. The first log structures that were built were in northern Europe, in the Bronze Age.
  3. To build wooden cabins, moss or other soft materials were used to make them waterproof.
  4. Do you know what the cabins built only of logs are like? These usually have no nails, so their stability comes from simple stacking, with only a few notch joints for reinforcement.
  5. The oldest surviving log house or cabin in the United States is the C.A. Nothnagle Log House, built around 1640, in New Jersey.
  6. The Tipi Cabin is a cabin made out of leather. How amazing! It is held up by three vertical poles that cross at the top and a large sewn hide that covers the wooden structure.
  7. In 1930, the largest cabin in the world was built on a private estate in Montebello, Quebec, Canada. Often described as a “log castle”, it serves as the Chateau Montebello hotel.
  8. In the 15th century, cabin-type dwellings coined the Latin name “domum dicti cotagii”, while the cabin's barn was called “grangia dicti cotagii”.
  9. The word “cabin” was also used to denote small farms that included outbuildings and farmland.
  10. A medieval wooden cabin was considered furniture, and they could be taken apart and transported to a new place without any trouble.
