  5. Did you know that you can travel long distances riding in a balloon? Hot air balloons work thanks to the hot air contained inside them; and if you climb into one of them, you can take a wonderful ride at a height of between 200 and more than 900 meters.
  6. Did you know that balloons made entirely of latex are biodegradable? Latex is a super elastic material made from the sap of rubber trees. If it is in contact with the air, it takes between 80 and 180 days to degrade.
  7. The first rubber balloon in the world was created by the renowned English scientist Michael Faraday. In 1824, Faraday used two sheets of rubber as a container to hold the hydrogen from one of his experiments... without meaning to, he invented balloons!
  8. In 2017 a whippet dog named Toby managed to break the world record for the “dog with the fastest time to pop 100 balloons.” With the help of his nails and teeth, Toby managed to pop the 100 balloons in 36.53 seconds.

  10. To write the largest phrase made with balloons in the world, 7,236 balloons were needed. It was written in 2020 by Venezuelans Genesis and Iravid, and it said: “Success has nothing to do with luck it is a matter of consistency,” which translates into Spanish as “El exito no se trata de tener suerte, es cuestion de consistencia.”
  11. If you watched the Pixar animated movie “Up,” you probably wonder how many balloons Carl used to make his house fly. According to the number of balloons animated by the film's makers, Carl inflated around 20,622 balloons to be able to reach Paradise Falls.
  12. After watching the animated movie “Up,” you probably wonder how many helium-filled balloons would be needed to make a house like Carl's fly in real life. According to various estimates, the number would be between 25 and 32 million balloons. Incredible!
