Why color lungs pictures?
Lungs are a pair of organs that have one of the most important functions for our body. That's right! They are responsible for our breathing. They are a grayish-pink color and are found in the chest.
Through the lungs, the blood in our body receives the oxygen from the air we breathe, and right there it releases the carbon dioxide, which comes out when we exhale. Amazing! Lungs are very interesting, don't you think?
Also, the lungs are the center of the respiratory system. This system also includes the trachea and the muscles of the chest wall.
Wow! So many things about lungs. There are so many that we can't tell them all, but don't worry, if you decide to paint this topic at Coloring Together you will get access to a ton of fun facts that we place on top of the printable coloring pages.
This way you will learn in the process while you have fun coloring. What do you say? Shall we start? These lung drawings won't color themselves. Let's get to work!

- An adult, under normal conditions, usually breathes 12 to 20 times per minute, while a child breathes up to 30 times per minute.
- They are not the same size! If you think the lungs are equal, they are not. The left lung is usually smaller because it has to make room for the heart.
- Did you know that the lung is not only in charge of transporting oxygen through our bloodstream? They are also in charge of producing the vast majority of the body's platelets, amazing!
- Breathing rate is a little tricky to measure: as soon as you realize it's being counted, you start to breathe more slowly and deeply without meaning to. That's why doctors usually count it while you don't notice.
- There are four different types of lung cancer, of which three are related to tobacco use. Incredible!
- September 25 of each year is World Lung Day, as a call to take care of our air and reduce tobacco use.
- At the end of the bronchi, there are small air sacs called alveoli where oxygen exchange takes place. And in the lungs there are around 600 million alveoli. Amazing!
- Over the course of a whole lifetime, it is likely that 1 in 15 men will develop lung cancer, and 1 in 17 women. These numbers include both smokers and non-smokers. Amazing!
