Cyclopes were mythological creatures with a single eye, located in the middle of the forehead. They belonged to a race of giants with great skills in crafts and blacksmithing. It is said that the cyclopes made the thunderbolt for Zeus.
The parents of the cyclopes are Uranus and Gaia; however, they did not come out of their mother's womb until much later, when Uranus was overthrown by the Titan Cronus, since he believed that the cyclopes could overthrow him.
The cyclopes did not have a peaceful life, since they were cast down to Tartarus, which was the ugliest part of the Underworld. Poor things! Without a doubt a tragic but very interesting story.
