Shakira has released more than 12 studio albums, all of which have been commercial successes. She has also won numerous awards, including three Grammy awards, seven Latin Grammy awards, and two MTV Video Music Awards.

When she was in school, Shakira wasn't accepted into the school choir, since her teacher didn't like the way she sang, because of her fast vibrato.
Before music, Shakira starred in a miniseries called "El Oasis," a telenovela produced by Cenpro TV in 1994.
Shakira has sung at three soccer World Cups. Did you know that? The first was in Germany, in 2006. The second in South Africa in 2010, and the third and last was in Brazil in 2014. Amazing!
Shakira mentioned in an interview that she learned to belly dance, a popular dance from the Middle East, by trying to flip a coin with her belly. Don't you think that's amazing?
In 1997, Shakira created the Pies Descalzos Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping children living in extreme poverty with education and food. And she was only 20 years old back then!
