Messi's debut came in a friendly match against Hungary at the Puskas Stadium in Budapest in August 2005. Unfortunately it was not as Messi had dreamed, since he came on as a replacement for forward Lisandro Lopez in the 64th minute, but was sent off a few minutes later.
